This is one of only two recordings where Jake played Bydlo (the other being Kubelik) and the entire recording is spectacular. Do not miss it!

Does Jake not play it on the Reiner/CSO recording of Pictures? Overall, that is my favorite recording of the piece. I believe it was recorded in 1958.

That recording was done on euphonium. Robert Rada I think.

Robert Lambert played Bydlo on the Reiner recording of "Pictures". I was lucky enough to talk to Mr. Lambert about that session. He had to go home on his lunch break to get his euphonium. He called it a "nervous train ride". His is my favorite Bydlo as well.
