I realize that this is much bigger than I need for my 983, but I might have come across a deal on this so I'm curious if this could be a workable solution or if I'd be better off not risking it?

I know the large Unitec cases have straps in them with minimal blocking so they can accommodate more models, but I've never seen one of these so I'm not sure how they compare.

Thank you for your insights.

I got one for my Kanstul 66T. I got a piece of 6" foam and cut an insert to fit at the bottom of the tuba. That holds everything in place so the tuba doesn't move.

I talked WWBW into a significant markdown (from their regular price, anyway) when I bought my Petruschka. Good fit, happy with it so far, though I have yet to do any major travelling with it.

Thanks for the information. I'm not looking to fly or any major heavy travel, I just need something to put my tuba in when traveling where I can't put the tuba in the back seat of the truck (meaning, the baby and the car seat get priority over the tuba) and it has to ride in the bed of the truck.

One other question to those of you in the know? Would you go with the SKB or the Unitec assuming all things being equal? I've found one of each, both used, similar in price (meaning fit the budget I have for a case), and both much larger than realistcally neccesary for my 983.

Thank you.
