Other than silver vs. lacquer, do gold brass, rose brass, or other brass alloys have an real impact on the sound? My experience is that the rose brass tuba I had didn't project as well as the yellow brass versions of the same horn, but I loved the sound quality. Again, this could have been more to individual sample variation than the type of brass, but I do wonder if the brass alloy has an impact.
