Laskey B Tuba Mouthpiece

Hello everybody!

I've been told that the Laskey B mouthpiece is "a cross between a Helleberg and a Gieb mouthpiece." Which I interpret as, between a funnel and a bowl, or between a Laskey H and G. On Laskey's site, it describes it as a deep bowl. I've never seen one of these in person, so I really don't know.

My question for you is: are all of those statements compatible? Are they all describing the same thing? Or have I misunderstood something?

For those have you that have played on this mouthpiece, what are your thoughts?

Much appreciated!

I have one of these and I think that the description is correct. I think the same could be said for Curry tuba mouthpieces which seem to be "not quite funnel, not quite bowl" but a combination of each. I find the Laskey 30B works best with larger BBb tubas although one of my students loved the results with a large CC.

The problem seems to be in actually finding one of these mouthpieces. A student ordered one from a well-known dealer and never received it (this was well over a year ago). He was repeatedly told that Laskey had none to send. I hope this situation has changed because I like this one. Anyone know of a reliable source for this model?
