The Extreme Registers

In the really crazy high and low registers I have a few questions.

In the upper register, Bb right above the staff and higher, I start sounding like a Euphonium and an octave higher I sound almost like a French Horn. Is this an ok sound? or is there another sound I should be shooting for? I really enjoy john fletchers sound in the youtube videos of him and thats the sound I hear in my head while I play.

And at low F below the staff and below, I almost get a Bass-Trombone-farting-out-pedal-tones sound. I can play the lower register with a mellow sound but what would be the optimum sound to go for?

As of now D five ledger lines above the staff and higher just sound like a jazz trumpeteer screaming out high notes and at G below pedal Bb it starts sounding fluffy and unsupported but i'm working on it!!!

If it sounds all right to you, then maybe it's my computer, but I don't get much audio out of that video.
