Sorry, I've been more of a lurker than I should have been. I am the owner of 10 Jinbao instruments. Three Euph's, 3 tuba's, 2 french horns and 2 bass trombones. I,m a euph player. I bought the others to rent at a low cost to members of our beginner band. I've been letting experienced players try them and I now can predict what they will say before they open their mouths. "nice and open up high and middle range, not so good in the low range". The tubas are 2 miraphone 1292 copies and a hirsbrunner copy. Is there a type of mouthpiece i could try that would help them in the low range.

Not sure I follow you. The experienced tuba players you've been working with have access to their own mouthpieces, right? Are you thinking we might be able to specify a mouthpiece that will work better for them, than their own mouthpiece has worked?

Could it be because you are a euphonium player that you have a stuffy low range on the tuba? (ie. have you tried playing another brand of tuba)

Otherwise, I find all of the Jinbao mouthpieces I have tried are crap. Ideally, each player should likely get their own mouthpiece that they have tried out before.

I'm playing the HB copy with a Sellsmanberger Symphony with the #2 medium Dinkum rim. I'm can play solid down to the petal D. The only note I have to be a little careful about is the C just above the tuning Bb. I've also used the Wicks #1 with good results.
