I have not actually played on one, but if they are anything like the same brand trumpets I have seen, I would look elsewhere.

I bought a Maestro 4 valve Wagner style euphonium several months ago just to see how the quality was. I think it was $295 plus $40 freight. It turned out to be a very good playing horn. In fact... I had two guys practically fighting to buy it from me. I ended up selling it to one of them. He plays it weekly in a German band I play with and is tickled to death with it. The finish has held up very well and the rotary valves/linkage seem to be performing well. This may just have been a very good horn compared to the 500 others in the production run that may have been junk.... I don't know. The origin is China. I think I was lucky on the euph. You should probably play the tuba in question before you plunk down your $1,000. ... in fact, you should play ANY horn before you decide to buy it.

Let us know what you think of the horn!
