Just got a 1291 on loan from a local university. I hadn't played extensively on a CC for many years (Hirsbrunner HB-20)
I've been putting it through its paces today and all I can say is WOW!!! It's as close to a perfect horn as I can imagine. Playing it with a Monette 94. It's a good match for this horn. The low range pops and the scale and response is even from top to bottom! Fat, fat tone! More comments to follow.
