Hi there,

I HAVE TO DO some traveling this year with my sousa. Our band has Gigs coming up in Sweden, Italy an I will even go to the states. I know most of you guys prefer traveling by car, but that´s obviously not possible for me. Buying an extra ticket could be an option but I was thinking about let some company build me a flightcase because here in europe you are allowed to bring your music instrument as bulk luggage on the plane without beeing extra charged. Does anyone of you have a flightcase built for a sousaphone and could post pictures that I get an idea what to tell the company how it could be done? Does anybody here has experience travelling with a flightcase? thanks in advance.

I just got back from a visit to China with my Tuba. I have an MTS case for it. It suffered no damage on the trip which included three flights plus lots of bus trips and a trip on a train. When I got back in the states I was in Elkhart IN and stopped to see them. They added a couple more pads to improve the fit and were generally very nice people. The have a section on their website which allows you to send them your horn dimensions so you get the correct case. Nice people and reasonably priced product.
