Gold wash bell polish

I have an old silver King Eb sousaphone that I'm going to start cleaning up and polishing (at least polishing the bell) but before I do I wanted to check with those of you smarter than me so I don't ruin the gold wash bell. Will Haggertys silver polish hurt the gold wash? if so, what do you suggest for cleaning & polishing the inside of the bell?
Much thanks!

NO! Not Tarn-X! Tried it on a gold washed cornet bell, and the gold wash disappeared as I used it. Use the softest polish you can on it.
I believe Wright's has a silver cream that seems rather soft.
Haven't tried this, but maybe citra-shine might work as well, if used on a soft sponge or cloth.

Philip Dismuke, a goldsmith at
Jewelsmith and former euph player, recommends using WARM - not hot - water and mild dish soap to clean gold washed and gold plated items.

That's what worked very well on my H.N.White King mellophone bell.
