Where to buy cork bumper material?

Does anyone know where to by bumper sized rods of cork?

Wondering the same thing. Was gonna do some DIY tuba stuff and can't find anyplace that sells cork rods, not even hobby stores around here.

I bought mine from The Horn Guys in California, but I am sure there are several other sponsors on the forum who sell it.

yup. J.L. Smithwould be the best bet.
If you want more of the neoprene, I'd reccomend McMaster-Carr.

I use 1/4"-5/16" Buna N, but what would be a good size for cork?

Should be same diameter. Cork is quite easy to compress.

I use champagne corks. Its a high grade of cork, easy to slice into wafers and cut with an xacto knife.

+1 I have had excellent results as well with champagne corks...
