Yeppers, C.O. be the man. What also gets me is how well tuned his ear must be in order to play in the sort of tune and tone he desires. I don't think my ear is tuned well enough to know the difference between pulling out the 1st slide .5" as opposed to 2". It must have taken hours to really learn his horn to the point of knowing the slide positions as well as the valve fingerings and lip positions.

Pretty impressive that he really hung together until the extreme high notes in the last scale where he quivered a little. A very small little.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I wasn't trying to self-promote on this video. I posted it for my students to practice with and linked it to a new FaceBook page. Guess it got out. Anyway, thanks again. The fact that the best tuba sound I hear everyday is my own is not an endorsement but rather an indictment as to how isolated I get in the Pacific Northwest. All the other guys around here (and there some greats) are 3 hours drive away. I never know if what I'm doing is anywhere near passable for what's going on in the rest of the world. Maybe I'll post more stuff to keep me honest.
