Which stainless steel mouthpiece (any manufacturer) is closest to an original Mirafone C4?
The super rounded rim, medium C cup, too tight backbore, etc. All the good and the bad - looking for the closest approximation to the real thing, but in stainless.
Marty "who realizes the blokepiece solo #1 is a better mouthpiece in many ways, but still hankers for the original for special applications."

Hauser's new Tommy Johnson one piece model is very similar to the old C4. A great high register mpc.

Also the earlier Loud LM-10 Tommy Johnson model. It has a screw rim but I suppose is pretty much like the newer Houser. I've never seen a Miraphone C4 but the LM-10 is very similar to my Schilke 69C4.

The LM-10 is much better in general and has a larger throat than the 69C4. The rim may be slightly less rounded--it feels that way to me, anyway. On my older 186 it is very easy to color the tone the way I intend, which for me is saying a lot. I use it and a Stofer Geib more than anything else I have.

I'll bet a quarter there isn't anything like it in stainless, not with the tiny throat.

According to AndyCatt's chart, the only mouthpieces that come within a 0.3 mm of the specs of a C4 in both throat and inside diameter are :

Joseph Klier T4-D
Joseph Klier T4-E
Bruno Tilz 310-M12
Miraphone TU23 (new C4)
Yamaha 68B
Yamaha Bobo Solo

...and that's not considering rim contour or bowl shape.

Give the guys at Giddings and Webster a call. If the throat on their Kronos mouthpiece is small, it may fit the bill. It is a bit smaller (.5 mm) than the C4 on inside diameter.

Bloke's C4LA rim is just that. A copy of the C4 rim and it will fit the Houser and Sellsmenberger Mouthpieces. You can get a great pdf from their webite diagraming the shapes.

Bump, still looking for a stainless C4 replica (that I can cut and turn down the shank on...)

I'll echo that the Baer F is close. Someone mentioned the Bobo Solo... not in the ball park - sold mine immediately as it was the anti-christ of my C4
