Greetings,
For those of you who rebuild or have valve sections rebuilt for you, what do you see / expect for clearances between the casing and piston? Is it instrument dependant? Say King vs Conn vs ??? My question is in regards to a complete job meaning honing of both the casings and pistons so that they are straight and true.
Thanks in advance,
DH

Re: Piston Valve Clearance
Bloke,
Thank-you for the information. I had read somewhere that Conn published that they manufacture to a clearance between 0.0012 and 0.0018 inches. I wrote these numbers down when I read it, but can't find it again to verify where this info actually came from. I also do not know if it was specific to tubas.
