The blue "B&S" brace logo and linkage question

Post by arpthark »

Quick question: When did B&S horns stop coming standard with the blue badge that said "B&S" on the main tuning slide brace? Also, when did they move from the older style ball-and-socket linkage to 3B uniball linkage? Anybody know an approximate date?

Thanks! :tuba:

I'm not sure when the "blue badge" B&S brace went away, but it was after the late 1980s, for sure. My B&S f from 1984 had one, as did several others from '88 and '89 that I've tried.

The 3B linkage didn't come stock on all of the MW / B&S tuba until 2004.
