Hello TubeNet!! After a long hiatus - geez, probably ten years - I've returned to the site. Good to see some old friends kicking around here!!

As you may or may not know, I'm currently in Athens, GA and have started a successful New Orleans-style brass band, the Half Dozen (http://www.HalfDozenBrassBand.com" target="_blank). After playing for four years, the group is finally starting to take off - we're playing a lot throughout the southeast, and were invited to play tours in Florida and Wisconsin last year.

We released our first CD in 2010, and now Half Dozen Brass Band is trying to raise funds for our next album - we're aiming for $3,000, not the entire amount required, but enough to offset the price. We've turned to Kickstarter to help us out.

Here's how it works: folks pledge a certain amount. Each amount comes with specific incentives. If we reach our goal by March 27, the pledges are good, we get our money, and give out our incentives. If we don't reach our goal by March 27, no one pays a red cent, we get no money, and no incentives are given out.

Here's the link to our Kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/154 ... -new-album" target="_blank" target="_blank

If you wouldn't mind copying and pasting this to anyone you think might be interested, we'd be much obliged. Facebook, email, whatever - every little bit helps. We've landed about 3/4 out of our $3,000 goal in two days, which is awesome, but we need to keep the ball rolling!! The incentives are great, including the opportunity to have a tune named after the donor.

Thanks, TubeNet - and it's good to be back!!

If you look at what incentive they are offering for the money, anyone who flames would be foolish. $10 gets you their new album, $25 their new an old album... Pretty much the same price as you would pay on itunes, right?

I have to admit, that was my thought, too. I'm not trying to shamelessly self-promote, just looking to a group of people that I remember as being good folks and seeing if any of them are interested in helping. If not, no hard feelings!!

I'm also not one of these people who logged on explicitly for this purpose - for the first time in a long time, I find myself with questions that only TubeNet can answer. I'll be posting that in a few days, but right now I'm a bit busy.

Thanks everyone. Hope all is well.
