After extensive travel and some tuba-swapping - I had a Neptune on trial for a couple weeks but it didn't work out - I finally got the tuba that I've wanted for a long time.

I picked it up in DC from a member of the Army Band. This thing is pristine! He took super care of it; if I had to guess how old the horn was, I would say maybe five or six years, definitely not 16!

Here she is, a 1996 B&S PT-6 CC in silver plate. Pardon the iPhone picture quality. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. I had a real "coming home" moment - for the first time, the sound of the horn is matching the sound in my head. And what a sound this thing makes, too - big, dark and EASY! Intonation on this horn is awesome, too - only quirk is, first space Ab is a little low. Other than that, nearly spot-on. The most exciting thing, intonation-wise, was finding a tuba where 235 was IN-TUNE for C# and F#, and 45 was IN-TUNE for low F without having to do any slide pulling. Awesome tuba!
