I've not played the Eb or CC models, but I really liked the Gronitz F tubas. I liked the piston one over the rotor model and found them to have a nice, big sound and really good intonation.
I really wanted to try the Gronitz PCK while I was looking for a new CC tuba, but I couldn't find anyone that had one in stock...probably for the better since I have no business owning a 6/4 anyway!
Quality seemed great and the horn felt "beefy" despite reports that they build pretty thin tubas.
The valves, as I recall, were great. They were the right size and in the right place for my taste, and very smooth.
I don't know what the price on a Gronitz is these days, but I remember them being a steal compared to other (more popular) models.
Tony Clements out at Low Brass Werks is the guy to talk to. At one time he had a Gronitz Eb in his shop, so he probably knows at least a little bit about them.
