What's Bloke's take on the 66D4? I use one for my Eb and it's great. Would I be better off with that instead of my 24AW - I'm going to try it obviously.

This was playing on my mind on tonight's gig.
Yamahas YFB621, YBB621, YEB 631 and YCB661
Conn 20K, King 2370 Fibreglass, Bubbie and Amati Bb helicon
Perinet ophicleide, King 3B trombone
Double bass and a stack of bass guitars too.

I've never seen nor played one. The spec's indicate only a scant improvement over the topical mouthpiece.

- Something approaching a .350" opening is really just too much carburetor (again, imo) for most tubas (bass tubas in particular).
- I personally don't understand (again, except for young children and people with very forward-pointed facial structure) any reason for such a restricted cup opening.
- I personally don't see any advantage to so much metal pinning down the skin and muscles around the lips.
