I try not to chime in on these types of posts, but getting program notes are really not that difficult. Especially for a piece that is played so often and has been recorded a ton.

Thanks, but i searched google for 3 days. I already found that page. It more of a Hindemith Biography than program notes. I was looking more for something that explains the piece. But i may just describe it myself. Thank You very much though

If you need program notes for tuba, then yes it is.

Well, you asked for help and tips, so here's my suggestion...

Research the pieces yourself and write your own program notes on both the composers and general comments about the pieces. It's really not that difficult, can be done in an afternoon/evening of work, and will be much more satisfying than copying a few paragraphs from a book of someone else's work. This should be simple after your thorough preparation of these pieces for a recital.

My personal opinion is that program notes should be required of music majors giving recitals and should be evaluated as a major part of the recital. There is simply too little emphasis being placed on writing skills in higher learning and it's showing more and more all the time. I'm tired of seeing doctoral students who can't construct a sentence that makes sense, is 100% spelled correctly, and is grammatically sound.

+1. Looking back today, I am amazed that for my master's recital (quite a few years ago), I was not required to do any program notes.
