Hi,

In the Arban-Young-Jacobs for Tuba, is the range the equivalent as the trumpet version - ie. low F# up to high C, or does it expand out?

Thanks,
MP

Of course I just took this one to work and it's not at home. If my memory serves me correct the range is not at any extreme. I can't recall that it goes above middle C or at most D above it and as for the low range I don't think below pedal F. It would seem to me that the intent is not to stretch your range to the limit, more to work on your musical abilities in a normal range.

I don't have my copy with me. I do remember thinking that it all playable on a three-valve tuba.

The range is fine for BBb tuba, although I think that book is pitched for the CC tuba equivalent to the Bb trumpet and trombone books.

It doesn't have the text in french though. Apparently there is not a K sound in French...
Thanks! =)
