Love that Stax sound.

I didn't know he had been playing with Steve Cropper since childhood. No wonder they played so well together.

YES YES - for bass lines, the two frequently go together. Too bad that is so often missed by the next Jaco wannabe.

(If Duck Dunn had been a tuba player, would he still have smoked his pipe while he played?)

The first bass player I really listened to. I have been listening to old Stax stuff ever since I saw the news.
