Thomann sousaphone

Postby Jeff Miller » Thu May 17, 2012 6:20 pm

Hi, European players.

Has anyone ever tried a Thomann fiberglass sousaphone? Just wondering if they are any good (relative to the fact that they are made of fiberglass).

thanks,

Jeff

Hi,

I've never played one, but the spec looks appealing and the price is great.

If you go for it and don't have the need for 2 hard cases - I could do with one!

Thomann are quite cool with returns, although that will be one big old box arriving on your doorstep.
Yamahas YFB621, YBB621, YEB 631 and YCB661
Conn 20K, King 2370 Fibreglass, Bubbie and Amati Bb helicon
Perinet ophicleide, King 3B trombone
Double bass and a stack of bass guitars too.

There are some detail photos at http://www.thomann.de/gb/thomannsousaphone_fiberglas.htm - don't know if they are using unique hardware (since I have not been exploring current FG Sousaphones much lately.)

Who makes this horn? Looks like a King knock-off.

Hi guys,

Could you please restrict replies to sensible, pertinent answers to my request?

If you want to start a Chinese language thread, maybe it should go in the "Off-topic" area?

Thanks,

Jeff

Just guessing, but it appears to be a Jinbao make.
