When you have a tuba it is your partner in sound. Needs, skill and preferences change so they sometime have to move on to another player. I have regrets I sold an Eb Sousa, but I wouldn't be using it now. It had issues. It is now a wall hanger somewhere......

I just hope that someday the government recognizes that partnership and gives the sames rights and benefits to me and my Willson that they give to me and my wife.

I completely agree. Sometimes the great times are worth it, though. The tuba I regretted selling (before I got a better example of the same model this week) had a ton of problems, as you know better than most. I gladly put up with them for the sound I got with it.

If I'm not using/playing a tuba a lot, that tells me I don't need it, however cool it looks and sounds.

Have you picked out names for the little, er, "products of that partnership" (and exactly what are you doing with that tuba anyway)?

Not that I've had this experience yet, but where does regret of selling because of financial issues fall under?
