Where to find a Miraphone serial number?

Post by Tubajug »

I'm borrowing a 186 from another band director for the summer and he said just email him the serial number for liability purposes. Problem is, it's not under the Miraphone triangle where it usually is on a Miraphone! I've looked on the valves, the leadpipe, the paddles and the paddle bar. Anywhere else I can look? It's a BBb with a 2-3 fifth valve if that makes any difference. Thanks!

I've seen some Miraphones w/o a serial number. Maybe there are other markings or numbers on the rotor casings?

Though really, the BD/school fell *** backwards into finding this out. I'd suggest that he engraves his own serial number and logs it in the system as soon as possible. If no identifying marks, what's keeping some kid/parent/crook from just taking it and claiming it was theirs all along?

It does have a number engraved on it from the school district at least, I just found it odd that there was no s/n under the triangle. If the bell replacement came from miraphone, that makes sense.
