HELP! Renting a tuba in the Netherlands...

Post by ds »

Our band is travelling from Canada to the Netherlands (Landgraaf) and will be playing several concerts on the days of July 12th to 16th. Does anyone have suggestions where in the Netherlands we can rent 3 decent BBb basses (3 + 1) ? ? ? Since Holland is a small country we could travel some distance to pick them up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

DS

Should not be to hard to find, british style brass bands are very popular in the Netherlands. Google some brass bands and send them emails if they know, that's my best bet.

Address the following shops:

1. Adams (Ittervoort branch) = http://www.adams-music.com" target="_blank" target="_blank, and ask for Ton Roncken or Miel Adams. This is about 30/40 km from Landgraaf.
2. HANSSEN = http://www.muziekcentralehanssen.com" target="_blank" target="_blank and ask for Mr. Hanssen himself. This is about 15 km from Landgraaf.
3. Joosten = http://www.jojoosten.nl" target="_blank" target="_blank and ask for Mr. Joosten. This is about 20 km from Landgraaf.

For 3 basses perhaps it will be necessary to make deals with more than one of these.

If they are not able to help you, you could address Van Gorp at Roosendaal. They always have a lot of second hand instruments on offer. But....that is about 150 km from Landgraaf.

All the best,

Another suggestion:

Brassatelier De Wilde = http://www.brassatelierdewilde.com" target="_blank (ask for Roland de Wilde) would be a good address. Unfortunately he is about 200 km from Landgraaf.
But, at the moment he has enough second hand instruments in stock, so he will be glad to rent some to you, I suppose.
You will find there
Bb 4: Besson 3x, Manchester Brass 1x, Willson 1x, Amati, 1x and New York Symphonic 1x.
EEb 4: Besson 1x, Miraphone 1x.
