Hello everybody

During this ITEC Week I spent a lot of time testing all the presented f tubas, because I want to buy a new f in the near future.

Here is the list of the Instruments, that remained on my list at the end.
Of course I have a personal favourite already. But I'd like to hear if there are any mayor arguments for or against one of these instruments.

(they come in alphabetical order with measures of bore and bell)

Adams Solo - 18.0-19.5 mm 420 mm
Gronitz PF 125 - 19.0-20.0mm 420mm
Miraphone Petruschka - 19.6 - 20.4mm 429mm
Melton 2250 TL - 19.0 - 20.5mm 420mm
Willson 3200S FA-5 - 18.0 - 19.5mm 425mm

Thanks
Michael

Hi-
If you are still at ITEC, write the serial #'s down for each horn you liked--and see if it is possible to buy--whichever model you choose--that particular horn. Maybe even a demo model discount on top of it also. I know that for at least some of the models you listed, consistency of quality can vary.
Good luck!
Mark

Did you try the G & P F tubas? I was very impressed by both the rotary and piston versions. Spot on tuning and good low C

If you liked the Adams, you might want to consider Chris Combest's HB12...

I tried the G&P too. A really nice Instrument. And what a price!
It was the last one I tooke of my list, because the response worked slightly less good for me, then with the ones that I've posted. I'm shure many tubaplayers will find a great F in this Instrument!
