I got to enjoy a really nice display of low brass playing tonight at the performance given by the Redlands Low Brass Ensemble (aka the Chicago Symphony Low Brass plus one) as part of the week long Univesity of Redlands Pokorny Low Brass Seminar. The players were Michael Mulcahy. Andrew Glendening and Sean Reusch on trombone, Randall Hawes on bass trombone and Gene Pokorny on tuba. They played:
- An Alpine Fantasy - R. Strauss/B. Mansted
Requiem (excerpt) - Cristobal De Morales
Canzona - Biagio Marini
Sonatina No. 3 - Gottfried Reiche
Fili mi, Absalon from Symphoniae Sacrae - Heinrich Schutz
Sonata - Daniel Speer
Etre ou ne pas Etre - Henri Tomasi
Music for Three Trombones, Tuba and Orchestra, III. Adagio Molto - R. Premru
Breathing Stone (2010) - Anthony Suter
