Tuba part for Barnum???

Hello Tubenet,

I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the tuba/sousaphone part for the musical "Barnum." Right now, I am really only interested in the opening solo/trio section of "Come Follow the Band." I will be playing it in the Spring, but was curious about getting the part in advance, before the actual books come in. You can PM or email me if you have it, or have any leads on where I can get it.

Thanks,
Steve

I played it years ago but do not still have the part. As I recall, it started on an Eb two ledger lines above the staff (or was it just the Bb at the top of the staff-can't quite remember), and had some tricky parts in it. It is a good idea to get an advance look at it if you can.

That's not what I remember! I played it maybe half a dozen years ago from the rental part. That solo is mostly in the staff, but certainly not above it. Maybe as high as F# or G# on the staff. Lotsa sharps. But I played it, so it's not really difficult. It was intended to be performed by a sousphone player on stage, though I played it in the pit.

I have a copy of the solo at home, but I'm not there and won't be until the weekend. If you haven't had your needs met by then, let me know.
