Who are the people that have influenced you that have not expected or even wanted a shred of notoriety?

I have to second (or third?) Marty's choices. Pat had a profound influence on me. He taught honestly and with no self-aggrandizement. I have never had the honor of studying with Don Harry but I respect him tremendously for the way he has taught several of my own students. Two marvelous and completely unaffected people who certainly command my respect.

I would not be playing where I am today without these teachers:

Andy Rodgers (Tuba, Radio City Music Hall, NYC)
Alan Raph (bass trombonist in NYC since the 1950's)
Don Harry
Roger Bobo
