Hi-

From brasstacks--FYI--no strolling gigs with these tubas!

Image

Caption reads (translated from German to English via Babelfish):
A small pocket Cornet and a large Imperial bass. Both instruments are equipped with rotary valves.
Instrument maker Robert Petzold in Markneukirchen, born in the 18.05.1870, d. on the 25.01.1951. The photo was taken in 1906.
In the photo, something was cheating at the time. The Great Emperor bass stands to show advanced on a table, to more "size".

AND......courtesy of Don Harry---ANOTHER Big *** German tuba--definitely no strolling with this or you'll be bent over and walking like Groucho Marx....

This WAS the 1906 version of photoshop;

Looking at the relative focus in photo and the floor of the back wall, the Imperial was not only on a table, but also closer to the camera!
