Where Did the All Girl Jazz Band Go?

Post by musicman26 »

A couple of days ago I took a link on these pages that sent me to a movie of an all girl jazz band with a fantastic tuba player. Dumb me I forgot to mark that link and I would like to show that wonderful group to me friends. Does anyone have that link? I believe the group was from New Zealand and Australia. Thanks. Here it is : http://vimeo.com/26399606
I got this info from someone on the DJML group: THE INGENUES toured Australia opening at the Tivoli Theatre Sydney on July 23, 1928, finishing on August 28. They then went to the Melbourne Tivoli for a extended season, and returned to Sydney in November appearing on stage on the Regent Theatre. They were led by Mina Smith and described as "college beauties". They also toured South America and were part of the Ziegfield Follies 1927.
