Hey all,

I am planning on doing the song Cadence VI by Henri Lazarof for my Graduation Recital, however I've hit a little bit of a speed bump. I have found the sheet music for it but I can't find the audio tape that has the pre-recorded tuba parts on it. If somebody could help me out by either sending me a copy or directing me towards somebody who does have it that would be greatly appreciated!!!

The secondary part for Lazarof's Cadence VI is pre-recorded by the performing tubist each time it is performed. So, find someone who can record you (preferably in the hall that you'll be performing the piece in during your recital), and record the second part. I suggest breaking the two sections into two different tracks, and giving the person that plays the CD during your recital a copy of the score. When I performed it, the sound guy was a friend of mine from the tuba studio, so he had no problem playing the tracks at the right time.

For the chords at the end, I recorded each note individually, and then spliced them together in Cubase afterwards. Some people play one of the chord notes along with the recording live, while others (including myself), record all four notes in the chord, so that you have more time to put the mute in for the last little bit of the piece.

Good luck! That's a great piece of music.

That's pretty much what I did when I performed it too. I used ProTools, but that's only because that's what my recording engineer wanted to use.

It's a record it yourself dilly, though, Trevor. Have fun with it! It's a great piece!!!
