Best Camcorder for recording performances

Post by Tubadork »

Hey,
I want to do some recordings and I need a simple easy to use camera, that gets a good sound and a mic that can handle some pretty loud volumes. I'd like to record anything from solo performances up to and including a brass band. I rather not spend a ton of cash, but I am willing to make a bit of an investment.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill

The newer iPhones and androids have astounding quality.

My Galaxy 3 is almost as good as my Sony camcorder I think.

Zoom q3, or whatever it's called. The Zoom H2 with video. Amazing. I wish I'd gone ahead and bought it when I had the chance, and the money.
