PT-36 vs PT-42
Can anyone describe the difference in cup depth and profile between the PT-36 and 42? I'm familiar with the published specs. I don't yet have access to either one. I have a 48, 44 and 50. Love the 48, but it's just a bit too big. The 44 feels right for cup diameter, but it's too shallow for my horn when used in a concert band. Looking for thoughts from those with PT experience. Thanx!

Re: PT-36 vs PT-42
I have a PT-48, which is a great mouthpiece, but is also a demanding mouthpiece due to the rim size and pretty much straight funnel design - but is super when I need a real big sound. I also have a PT-84, which has more of a bell shaped cup and just a trifle more rounded rim. I also like the 84 very much, as it helps center the higher register a bit more than the 48 does. Also own a PT-24+, and use that for longer performances as it has a rim very much like the Bach 24AW - not quite as good for projection as the 48 or the 84, but if you are playing two and a half hours or so, that wide rim is a godsend. I would suggest giving either Jeff or Neal a call at Custom and ask for their recommendations - I have found them to be very knowledgeable and quite helpful - if you can make it to Detroit, I would think they would let you try out some mouthpieces, and if you can't they may be able to send you some on "trial".
Hope this helps a bit!
