VMI 2103 and Sternberg (?) STU 3032

Post by Alex F »

Has the VMI 2103 been replaced by the Sternberg STU 3032. I know that there is some connection between VMI and Sternberg (both part of JA Musik) and the specs for the latter seems to be the same or close to the VMI 2103. The 2103 a/k/a 103 no longer appears on VMI's website.

To add to the confusion, VMI also has a Model 3032, which I believe is the 5 valve version of the piston VMI model 3031.

Also, how do these relate to the PT-1 sold by custom music.

I know that these issues have been tangentially touched on in other threads but it does not seem that clear to me.

BTW, who handles Sternberg in the US?

Thanks

Sternberg is a new operation that's been set up by Gerhard Meinl's JA-Musik in Hungary. While I'm not sure, I suspect a factor is the lower labor cost. To get the skinny on the US distribution, try:

American Way Marketing, LLC
P.O. Box 1681
Elkhart, IN 46515
USA
ph: 1 574 295 6633
fax: 1 574 293 9888

AWM used to deal in accessories, but was purchased last year by Gerhard Meinl and John Musselman (formerly of Leblanc), so I don't know what they're calling themselves nowadays.
