Everything OK at Dillon Music?

Has anyone checked in on Dillon Music in the last few days? I have heard that Woodbridge NJ got hit fairly hard by Sandy. There is no mention of anything on their web-site.
I hope everyone is OK there. I'm sure we are all thinking of them and their families at this time.

They closed on the 30th and things are OK. They are on Facebook.

Steve posted on f/b that they were offering coffee to people in the vicinity soon after the storm. I haven't read much from him since then. It's a mess up there.

Casca Grossa wrote:people were still lined up at gas stations for miles at that time of night. Each gas station had about a dozen police cars and two ambulances at each one. It was a pretty unreal scene.
For those of us who remember when people got "ticked off" during the Nixon/early 1970's gasoline rationing (what was the last digit in your license plate? Odd or even? Were you permitted to get in the long line waiting for fuel Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, or holidays?), this sounds much worse. Of course, the situation in the 1970s wasn't necessarily accompanied by the present day devastation in the NJ/NY area.

Up here in Washington State, there also was a flag system. The station put out a green or white flag which matched up with even/odd number plate and that is when you could get gas. I also remember that some people would get in the line every opportunity they could get and buy one or two gallons of gas. This made the lins much longer.
I understand that, along with the supply problems, the lack of electricity in places causes problems by preventing the electric pumps from getting the gasoline out of the underground tanks.

I believe that once the power situation is solved, that most of the gasoline lines in the NE will disappear.

Having lived through this situation many times here in South Florida (we get hurricanes and tropical storms that affect us one way or the other about every 3-5 years) I can truly sympathize with what those in NY/NJ are going through right now. It will take some hard work, time, and a great deal of patience to outlast the effects of this storm. If you have friends in the area, help them any way you can. One thing you see time and again in these situations is the feeling of abandonment the victims exhibit after a few days. It can look like nobody is helping or caring when you see your neighborhood devastated and then nothing changes for a week. Sometimes it takes that long for the crews to reach you but that's little comfort when you haven't had a good night's sleep or a hot meal during that time. Little things like blankets, water, and hot food can make a world of difference.
My thoughts are with those effected. Stay safe and persevere.

Thanks for the concern. Dillon Music is open normal hours. Store was only out of power for 10 hours and back open for business on Wednesday morning of last week.
I personally got stuck in Boston until Friday morning. My house is fine with only VERY minor wind damage that has already been repaired. I don't know when my neighborhood will get the power back but we have hot water for showers. Anyway, I'm back in the store and digging through the back log of emails and phone calls today. Please order on line and/or call me with tuba-euph questions.

Glad to hear it!
Only out for 10 hours? I guess the tubas in the freezer didn't even have time thaw out and spoil.
