Hey TubeNet.
Hope you're all well, practicing and sounding good - maybe even as good as me? (I had a good day yesterday...buzzing FTW)
So, semi-shameless-but-oh-so-relevant-to-brass-addicts-plug:
I've been working a bit with Sarah Willis (the lovely lady who plays horn in the Berlin Philharmonic and introduces lots of things for their Digital Concert Hall as well as the YouTube symphony orchestra)...We have been working on doing some live Google Hangout interviews with famous brass people around the world. At the moment they've been mostly french horn and trumpet related, but she's promised to get some tubas on soon...that said I did pin down Steven Mead when he was down in Melbourne recently.
So far Steven Mead, Gail Williams, Radovan Vladkovitch and James Morrison have been featured. The interviews are all fascinating and really worthwhile watching. I'm getting many of them back up for on-demand viewing.
If you're interested, you can have a look at some of the on demand videos at http://www.sarah-willis.com/live. We've got Gail Williams lined up to do another live interview on Monday at 10pm Berlin time/3pm Chicago time/7am Melbourne time (yawn).
That's all. Thanks for reading. I hope someone finds it interesting.
