Favorite Gig Bags?

Just wondering what some peoples favorite gig bags are? What is the best combination of protection of the tuba, comfort for the user while carrying, and best price? If anyone has an awesome gig bag they are looking to sell, I'm looking to buy. My horns dimensions are 19" bell and roughly 34" tall. It is a Gnagey 4/4.

Thanks!

I love Cronkite bags

I have a Goetz supersac for my YCB661 that might fit your tuba. It's top loading with shoulder straps. A lot of people like them.

I'd sell it and buy a Cronkite, but they are not cheap.

I use a "Tuxedo" bag from Humes and Berg. They have two sizes (you would need the larger one for your bell). I like the padding, the large front pocket (music will fit in it), the pocket over the bell, and the fact that it has both back straps and a shoulder strap, so you can tote it whichever way seems best at the moment. It is not the most expensive bag, but it gets the job done for me.

I have a Gnagey 4/4, and use a Cronkite bag for a Conn 56J, which fits pretty well. The Cronkite is a very good bag, and easier to lug around than the ones with fiberglass shells in the bell end. Also stunningly beautiful, in two-tone leather. They're not the cheapest ones around, but a couple of hundred extra dollars is cheap insurance for a 7,000 tuba.

They are well-padded, have a large pocket plus an additional large snap-on music case, and dual straps.
