I am assuming these things dropped right in. Right?

I had these same valves to test in my PT-6P right before they went to bloke. I had the same experience with improvements to the sound, with a couple of other things to add:

- crescendos are more even, especially at the loud dynamics

- legato playing is improved - the little "pop" between notes is gone and it's easier to get a nice smooth transition between notes, like with vented rotary valves

I have a production set coming once Martin gets them in stock. I'll let the SF Bay Area folks know when I get them so folks can give them a try.

To all those Thor owners out there.
I'm very keen to try these new valves in my Thor, but before pulling the trigger, would like to hear from people that have had experiences with the Thor/MAW valve combo.
Your thoughts comparing them to the original MW valves are very welcome!

In Canada, I've found that USPS/Canada Post are the best at the border to skip over items, not charge duties or not question the value on the customs form.

I ordered a Conn 14H and the declared value was $50. UPS requested that I provide documentation of proof and so on so forth. (The price I paid for it was actually $50)... At the same time, I had a mint Conn 4H that was declared to be worth $40 (1/10th of its price) and Canada Post didn't even raise the slightest of issues.

Totally agree with Bloke. I am liking mine more and more as I play them.

Have already contacted Martin regarding a set for my Nirschl York....now I'm thinking I'd REALLY like to have them on my YFB-822 as well....hmmm....gonna have to sell something.....

Having never been quite satisfied with the trombone slide workmanship out here in the Netherlands, I once sent my slide out for a tune-up in the States (with success, btw).

It was necessary to have the postal/customs office notate ahead of time that the instrument part was MINE and that it was coming BACK after REPAIRS.

It is possible, one just has to find the official who's responsible for this.
