Tuba Mouthpieces?

My friend wants to try playing the tuba and he needs a mouthpiece. What size of mouthpiece would be good for someone starting to play the Bb tuba? (I play C tuba, so I wouldn't know)

Is there a general difference between mouthpieces for CC tubas or for BBb tubas? I tend to doubt that.
Going for anything specific would be pointless for a beginner.
One may like the Kelly mouthpieces or not, but they are well made at a reasonable price. Buy a #18 and a Kellyberg to find out whether cup or funnel styles work best for your friend:

Kellies are good, but they only come with standard shanks. These fit most current tubas, but if your friend is starting on an older instrument it may need a different sized shank: It would probably help to check that your own mouthpiece fits the receiver of your friend's instrument.
