Has anyone actually seen this horn anywhere?

Ian any idea how many were made?
Any video or audio of one in action?

Edit
Just finished reading your link Ian very interesting looks like only one was made.
Anybody know of any video or audio showing it in action?

I believe that this was a "one-off" made for Mr. Bell. I've never played this instrument but supposedly Mr. Bell was less than thrilled with its' playing characteristics as a practical instrument. An interesting experiment, however!

That's Don Butterfield playing the "tuba" side of the Bellophone, Bell and standing next to them is Joe Tarto. The weird valve trombone in the back - I would like to know!

The Bellophone is on display at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. A couple months ago, I saw it in a brass instrument collection.
