Has anyone seen one of these tuning slide adjusters in this configuration before? It's on one of my Conn double bell euphoniums, circa 1935.
Was this an option offered by Conn, and is it in any of the '30s Conn catalogs, or does this look more like a custom job?
There's a lever on the side of the euphonium that operates the kicker.

I took a look at the Conn general catalog 'C'. Your horn is shown as a model 94i for low pitch and 95i for high pitch. But... there is no mention of a main slide 'kicker'. I agree with Wade that it doesn't look like Conn construction although appears quite robust and functional.

I appreciate the opinions, and i tend to agree that the design is a bit pedestrian for Conn. The modification has really been done well. I bought a pair if these horns from the original owner's granddaughter, and only one of them has the modification on it. He really kept his stuff in fine condition...i don't think these have been restored (other than the tune up I had Ron Partch give these), but if course I coukd be wrong.
Dan, these doubke bell euphoniums are both model 60I.
I'm interested in adding a 30I (short action valves) to my collection if anyone has one for sale!

OK. Your pictures didn't make it clear whether the large bell was 'up' or 'front'. The 95i is the bell 'up' version.

Maybe i'll get you to make a couple of upright bells for it! Got any vintage Conn donor horns?
