Piston F tuba mouthpieces

Hi everyone,
For the last 12 years, I've exclusively played rotary valved F tuba, as I fell in love with my great Meinl Weston 45S. Recently, I have purchased a Big Mouth Brass piston F, as I love the clarity and tone that this instrument has. Now, I face a problem.
I have a collection of F tuba mouthpieces that work great for rotary valved instruments, but they don't really work well for piston instruments. I'm trying to get some suggestions for where to begin looking for a piston F tuba piece. Yes, I realize that all mouthpieces work on others differently, but I'd like to see what are most common, so that I may begin my quest in DC with those.
Thanks very much!

Hi Andy-
A small Helleberg works very nicely on those F 's!
Good luck.

I use a Bach 18 on a 1281. We haven't had the horn long but it works just fine; though I need to work past my expectations about how Eb's sound and respond on certain notes compared to big F's.

Dick Barth recommended the Warburton J1 to several professionals. I tried a couple of mouthpieces and liked the sound and intonation with the J1. It's a listed as a 'very deep' mouthpiece about 32.5mm wide. The J1 is a copy of Arnold Jacobs stage mouthpiece, by the way.

Tell him I said "hey."

Teacher was too busy down in Florida at USF with Bob Tucci, Yasuhito Sugiyama, and Jay Hunsburger. Plus, he's got this little gig he's playing with some Army Band...
I will tell him hello tomorrow when I see him! Hope all is well, sir!

Who has hacked Andy’s account?
He never would put mouthpieces into narrow categories related to just one pitch. He would test all the mouthpieces available to him.

Klaus,
Believe me, I have done that with what I have amassed in my mouthpiece collection. The problem is everything I have tried, it's not exactly what I am looking for. However, of the list that I've gathered between here and FB, I have a good idea of what style seems to work better.
