Army Band Workshop Webcast

I know I'm about two hours late on this, but we are webcasting this years workshop live on our web site.

http://www.usarmyband.com/video/live_vi ... _page.html" target="_blank

We got ourselves some (one) HD equipment, so the video quality should be vastly improved over previous years. Now if I can just fix the audio :) It should be much improved by tomorrow. Apologies if you are watching this evening.

A lot of the daytime events will be audio only, but I will try to get some video up and running when possible. Definitely video for all of the evening events.

Please let me know if you have any comments -- good and bad appreciated.

Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone is watching, and what your experience is like.

I am experiencing some bandwidth issues on my view/return feed, but I don't know if that is local or originating at the server. Any feedback is appreciated.

We had an equipment overheat issue at the beginning, but it looks like that is under control.

Thanks

I listened to the 8:30 AM EST Warm-Up session yesterday while I was getting ready to go to work. The stereo audio seemed to be fine.

While listening to the 10:00 AM masterclass, I did experience some problems getting sufficient volume out of the computer speakers, with the volume all the way up.

I lost signal all together, about half way through. I don't know if all of that was my computer's issue, or not.

Good to know. We are having pretty wild bandwidth fluctuations here, but in general we will be going lower bandwidth for the rest of the conference.

Got home in time to hear about 5 minutes of Alan Baer and now Tom McCaslin (wow!). I wish the camera was set slightly more to the right so the soloists were in view (and the right end of the band/orchestra). The video and audio are both transmitting well.

Thanks for setting this up.

Apologies. For some reason, the server was sending an old version of the web page, which put the large video player in a small page. It should be corrected this morning and for the duration of the broadcast.

Watching the Saturday morning recital...

As a courtesy to the audience, but much more so to Carol Conyers and the soloists:

The piano should be tuned at least once a day during an event like this where it gets heavy use and exposure.

Next year?

Just a suggestion from a one who works in the piano industry...

Wonderful masterclass with Tom McCaslin!

Great food for thought for myself and my students.

Thanks Tom for your insight and to the organizers for these broadcasts.
