They are cheap, have no padding, offer very little protection and do not have back straps or accessory pockets. Other than that, they are fine.

Hey,
I know they aren't exactly cheap, but you should definitely look into getting a Kronkite bag. I have one on my F tuba and there is literally not a scratch or dent on the horn. As for the case, it has thick, yet compact, padding and the straps have padding, so it is comfortable while carrying it. Also, when you order one, the maker (Glen Kronkite) will ask for the model of your horn and he will make the bag specifically for that horn.

Are Dolly Bags not made anymore? I thought they were great.

By the way, I have a Chronkite Bag for my Conn Bass Sax. Really wonderful construction, and very well thought-out for maximum protection. When you think about what the horns cost, the really good bags start to look like great investments!
