We have a pretty good group of British-style brass bands out here in the NW.
A couple of weeks ago, Brass Band NW sponsored an event featuring the Brass Band Northwest (Bellevue WA), Puget Brass (Seattle WA), Seattle Temple Band, Salvation Army and the Spokane (WA) British Brass Band.

This year the guest conductor was Salvatore Scarpa (Atlantic Brass Band) and the clinician was Doug Yeo.

After a day of rehearsals and clinics we gathered for a concert. There was some really great music....

I'm fortunate enough to play in Puget Brass. Following is a link to our opening number, Strauss "Festmusik der Stadt Wien" directed by Mr. Scarpa.

Looks like brass banding is alive and well in Washington. We have also started a Brass band festival here in Colorado with the Rocky Mountain Brassworks and the Fountain Creek Brass Band. Hopefully some new brass bands will start up here in Colorado and we can add more to our list.

Wish I'd made the concert. Great sound. In the past, Puget Brass has always been the best in tune of the groups present. At 1:44 there's a brief look at Dan Oberloh.
