Anyone have a bright idea of how to easily remove silverplate from outside of a sousa bell

However.... silver is pretty easy to just buff off.

Its been way too many years since I took chemistry in college, but in looking at the link on how to do it one question came up. Do you add acid to water or water to acid? We had a guy in our town get a really nasty and sever chemical burn doing it the wrong way, and since I heard about it third or fourth hand I'm not sure what he did to get himself in trouble. Be careful with the acid.

Remember to always pour the cream first, so you can add the coffee to your cream

WOW!!!!! I think I'll do my own plating following the quick, easy instructions on that site. Let's see now, if I hook one wire to my tuba and one to some silver and plug it in I should get a silver tuba really quick using my 240v as opposed to your weak 110v, right?

Its been a while but silver strip is a blend sulphuric acic, nitric acid and potassium nitrate. Sorry, I don't remember the ratio. Don't eventhink of it. You will be in over your head at the start. Very dangerous to work with and disposal is a serious matter. Have it done by a shop that knows what to do and how to do it properly. That is all.
