IU Octet Redux

Post by Dan Schultz »

This picture has been posted before but the horns weren't identified. L B Oliver was here last evening and recalled what the horns are. I questioned the difference in the lengths of the detachable bells on the three Kings but L B explained that the BBb variant seemed to have a shorter stature than the CC versions. If anyone can furnish more conclusive information... let me know.

I quizzed L B pretty hard about that one. I felt sure at best it was a very distant cousin to the other Kings.... maybe some shared parts but the bugle sure looks different. I might have expected the short stature if the horn was a CC and the other two were BBb.
