I too like the PT's both the PT-88 and my new PT-83 which sounds great on the Conn 5j I've been using. The 83 isn't huge but it is ver easy to put a lot of air through and like Tuba Ninja said the 88 is big enough to swallow your face. I haven't tried much else as far as the larger mouthpieces go so I have no idea about the Laskey or the G&W but I do know I really like my PT's

Well you would probably be better to search out a good selection of mouthpieces (say at the Army Conference this week) and try themn out. find the one that best fits you. There are soooo many kinds of mouthpieces that come in every rim diameter, cup size, bore size etc..etc.. that you could imagine. But what works for one may not work for someone else. I know for my own personal use, I dont necessarily get the biggest sound using the largest mouthpiece. But rather a mouthpiece that I am very comfortable on produces much better results, especially with intonation. Just a thought, but just to show I am sport the PT-50 is a very nice all around larger mouthpiece.

Um... I can agree with the 7, a 24AW is MUCH smaller though.Captain Sousie wrote:Try a bach megatone 7 or 24AW.
Failing that an R&S heavy Helleberg.

I'd say go with a Mike Finn 3. It's an excellent big mouthpiece. Not quite as big ID wise as a PT-88 but is a surefire rafter shaker. I have one, gold-plated, for sale if you're interested, $85 including shipping.
